Jarob Ortiz – Third Place in the New Picture Story Image 9 of 9, St. Agnes in Detroit is part of a larger picture story which depicts the effects of job loss throughout the post-industrial Midwest. Detroit’s St. Agnes Cathedral. The structure was originally erected in 1922 after growing concerns that the perish’s original frame church could not adequately hold the congregation’s rapidly expanding membership.
