Hispanic dance instructor Eduardo Salazar and his partner Mimi spiced up the West Allis campus cafeteria on Oct. 15 with exotic dance routines for all to enjoy. Salazar and Mimi demonstrated many different styles of dance such as bachata, salsa and rumba.

At the beginning of their demonstration, only two men were brave enough to volunteer to dance in front of the eager crowd. Yet, as the dancers began to loosen up and show the ease they had with their volunteers, almost 20 people joined in for the experience.

A Puerto Rican couple watching the event commented, “Being Latino, it’s great to see people that are passionate about our history and want to show the beauty of our people through dance.”

While this dancing event was entertaining, it was also a cultural haven of love and connectivity between people from all walks of life.
