Retiring, but not forgotten

A number of great individuals have recently retired from the college. This will leave a great void for not only the campuses themselves but the other faculty and students who will miss them as well. Experience is something that is not easy to replace. This will be clear when these individuals retire.

After speaking with Kathleen Hohl (Director of Communications and Events), she indicated these sentiments as well. “It would be a fair observation to say that we’re losing these individuals’ institutional knowledge. These individuals have spent a significant amount of years at this school.”

After speaking with Hohl, she indicated that it is tough to know whether the all of the vacancies created by retirements will be filled. It will be up to the supervisors in the particular areas to either have a review or assess the situation of that area and then go from there.

That being said, with the amount of individuals who are retiring (104), it will take time to replace them (if and when those positions will be filled). It is not known at this time if some of these retirements are due to the budget situation that is occurring in Madison.
