You can't kill the metal

From rap and R&B and jazz to rock 'n' roll, there seems to be just an endless supply of music. But there is one type of music that should get more attention, and that is metal. The one band that is electrifying the genre is Killswitch Engage. Killswitch Engage started back in 1998, when their bassist, Mike D'Antonio, teamed up with a band called Aftershock, which was not getting the attention they so desperately wanted. (0) comments

Madonna's sweet as candy; Winwood's

Some artists just naturally carry around the big respect stick. Pretty much no matter what they do or how often they do it, you simply know it's gonna be good. Case in point? I am no food concierge. I could attempt to direct you to Milwaukee's finest sushi bar, hibachi house or bistro with the most authentic foreign fare. And while that all sounds wonderful (and expensive), I would like to believe that I am not the only college student groveling under the recession. (1) comment

Factotum: A man with many jobs. A lot of us can relate to this term, but Henry Chinaski gives it an all-new twist in this recently released movie adaptation of Charles Bukowski's 1975 novel, "Factotum." Matt Dillon stars as Bukowski's alter ego, Henry Chinaski, as he drifts through LA's slums, picking up any job he can find, a pickle sorter for example, or how about a full time gambler? As you might guess, he goes through work like hot cakes on National Hot Cake Day. (0) comments
