PHI THETA KAPPA INTERNATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY Spring 2008 student initiates

The Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society has been providing "opportunities for scholarship, recognition and enrichment" for students since 1918 by recognizing academic excellence within the two-year college system.
Phi Theta Kappa membership is based upon outstanding academic performance and is only offered to students through the local chapter located at the institution of enrollment.
Students must have completed at least 24 associate degree credits with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average.
Members of Phi Theta Kappa benefit their education by becoming eligible for awards totaling $28 million in transfer scholarships, stipends amounting to over $50,0000, Guistwhite scholarships totaling $60,000 and opportunity for recognition as an All-State Academic Team member which could lead to internships in Washington, D.C., working for the U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation.
MATC Phi Theta Kappa members also get to enjoy discounts on Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Pops concerts, Milwaukee Admirals, Brewers and Wave games, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public museum and more.
Some famous Phi Theta Kappa alumni include H. Ross Perot, U.N. Ambassador Jeanne Kirkpatrick, Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise and Grammy-winning entertainer Rudy Gatlin.
