The Aurora Pharmacy Internship Program is designed to offer pharmacy students a variety of challenging outpatient experiences over the course of their pharmacy school training. The experiences offered vary depending on the student's current year of professional school and are designed to help build and polish skills.Interns will have the opportunity to have practical application of skills learned at their school of pharmacy, develop their practice skills as well as enhance their project management, time management, and leadership skills.In this role you may be responisible for the following:Assists the pharmacist by performing a variety of distribution, technical and clerical duties. Assists patients, customers and other caregivers in obtaining medications. Dispenses medications and provides patient medication counseling under the direct supervision of a Wisconsin licensed pharmacist.Receives and interprets medication/prescription orders and enters them into the pharmacy computer system.Prepares medications for dispensing.Learns to check medications prior to dispensing under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.Counsel patients on medications and responds to their questions and concerns under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.Provides medication information to other health care providers.Interviews patients to obtain medication histories.Assists patients, customers and other caregivers as needed to obtain prescribed and over the counter medications.Performs duties related to medication ordering, receipt, stocking and inventory control.Performs medication and prescription billing activities.Scheduled Hours Part time hours during the school year and full time hours during breaksLicenses & CertificationsNone Required. DegreesCurrently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Pharmacy, andCompletion of the second year of an accredited or approved program in Pharmacy. Required Functional ExperienceNo experience required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCompletion of the second year and currently enrolled in a doctor of pharmacy degree program.Good communication and customer service skills.Strong attention to detail.Strong teamwork skills.Effective multitasking and prioritization skills.Basic computer skills.
