Position Description:PurposeNote: This position will be based in Madison, WI at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. This position organizes and coordinates statewide efforts to strengthen school-based and school-linked mental health and substance use (behavioral health) services supporting students in reaching their full academic, emotional, behavioral, and social potential. It co-coordinates the Wisconsin Project AWARE grant with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction's (DPI's) Project AWARE Coordinator.The position accomplishes this through working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, DPI Student Services/Prevention and Wellness Team and Special Education Team, additional state agencies, and other private and public sector stakeholders.Primary Functions Planning and facilitating the work of state inter- and intra-agency coordinating groups focused on behavioral health, with membership from a broad array of agencies and disciplines. Facilitating and providing training and technical assistance for local coalitions, including schools, community mental health and justice system members in the following areas: 1) promotion of mental, emotional, and behavioral health; 2) connection of families, schools, and communities; 3) prevention of behavioral health problems (including substance use); and 4) creation of safe and violence-free schools. Working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, DPI Student Services/Prevention and Wellness Team and Special Education Team, additional state agencies, and other private and public sector stakeholders. Coordinating program outreach activities including acting as a liaison with community organizations. Collecting, analyzing, and disseminating program data. Reporting program data and progress to program stakeholders.
