This is an entry-level position in AECOM's Environment Business Line within the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Technical Practice Area; position will report to EHS Department in AECOM's Minneapolis or Milwaukee offices. The Environmental Scientist will work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to: environmental compliance plans, environmental regulatory analysis, environmental permitting for new or modified facilities, environmental site assessments, environmental impact statements, chemical inventories, subsurface investigations, and hazardous material surveys.AECOM will be pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). Our people bring deep industry knowledge to help you succeed.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:* Work under supervision of a project manager or senior level team member on a variety of EHS projects, including but not limited to:* Complete site visits to collect data and prepare environmental compliance plans such as hazardous materials management plans, spill prevention and/or storm water pollution prevention plans;* Prepare environmental permit applications, emission calculations, and discharge assessments;* Prepare annual environmental reports for industrial clients;* Complete site visits to collect information and prepare due diligence reports for property transactions;* Complete site visits to prepare chemical inventories.* Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.* Collect, interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.* Entry-level position; may not require previous experienceMinimum Requirements* BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education* Educational background (bachelor's degree at minimum) in an environmental-related field (e.g. environmental science, environmental engineering, etc.).* 0 to 2 years of environmental experience.* Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to safely drive extended distances.Preferred Qualifications* Excellent interpersonal communication skills* Excellent technical writing and organizational skills* Good working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, and Excel.* Ability to perform detail-oriented work.* Willingness/ability to be in the field and travelWhat We OfferWhen you join AECOM, you become part of a company that ispioneering the future .
