Milwaukee County Transit System


This position assists with the creation and organization of employee files. The Human Resources Intern also supports recruitment activities which include but is not limited to applicant screening, interviewing and credentialing.

1. Audits and organizes employee personnel files.
2. Scans employee documents and store in appropriate locations.
3. Conducts phone interviews.
4. Participates in interviews.
5. Conducts employment verifications for applicants that have received an offer of employment.
6. Performs other duties as required.

1. Currently enrolled in bachelor?s degree program in Human Resources or related field.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


1. Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
2. Knowledge of the principles of recruitment and selection.
3. Knowledge of applicant tracking system.
4. Knowledge of appropriate documentation.
5. Knowledge of MCTS operations and policies.
6. Skilled in computer operations and spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, applicant tracking, and related software.
7. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
8. Ability to develop and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.
9. Ability to work independently.


Physical Requirements and Enviornmental Factors:

1. Work is frequently conducted an office or similar indoor environment relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Incumbent may sometimes be exposed to hostile or irate individuals.
2. Physical requirements are those described as sedentary work exerting 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently.
